Sunshine House Bed and Breakfast

Sunshine House is operated by Marsha and Michael Gustkey and  our Cocker Spaniel, Butch the Wonder Pooch.

We are looking forward to the 2013 season.   It is very difficult for us to think that we are ready to begin year five.

We have started this past summer grinding our own sausage for breakfast.  We are experimenting with different breakfast sausage recipes including pork, chicken, turkey and different flavorings.

Over Christmas break we created our first breakfast sliders.

Marsha and I are also working on some different crepe recipes.  Fresh salmon will continue to be a part of breakfast when we have it available.

What we offer:

• The Downstairs Room (blue) (pic #4) which includes:
• Private bath (attached to the room)
• Queen-sized bed
• Small refrigerator for drinks, dinner leftovers, etc...
• Full breakfast (We will do our best to accommodate your breakfast wishes, but it really helps us if we are aware of any dietary requirements prior to your stay: vegetarian etc...)
• Wireless Internet
• Satellite T.V.
• 800 sq ft deck for enjoying the weather
• Large common room with comfy furniture. (pic #3)
• There is no need to feel confined to your room during your stay.  Most of our guests, when they choose, spend time with us in the large kitchen room "hanging out" and exchanging stories!

• The Upstairs Room (periwinkle) (pic #5) which includes all of the above, but the bathroom is in the hallway and not attached to the bedroom.  The bathroom is private as those staying upstairs will be the only ones with access during the stay.  There is also a fridge in the room.

• The OTHER ROOM Upstairs (green) (pic #6) which we consider overflow (Suite) for groups that would like to have two rooms and share a bathroom.  The green room, however, does have a private sink in the room.  WE WILL NOT rent to different groups that will share the upstairs rooms.

• Our philosophy continues to be based on our enjoyment of  the intimate experience of one or two couples at a time here at Sunshine House.  Continued thanks to Bob, Kay, Todd and Christine from year one.   The small, intimate experience means more to us than "filling" the house with three different groups at a time.
• Marsha and I believe that we do our best for those who stay with us by keeping the numbers low so that we can spend more quality time with our guests.
• Our number one goal is to enjoy our guests and do the best that we can for them to make them feel comfortable and personally welcome during the stay at Sunshine House.
• Butchie totally agrees and gives it his stamp of approval!!!

We are located:

• Less than two minutes to beach bike/walk path
• Two blocks from historic Downtown Seward
• Two blocks from Alaska Sea Life Center
• One block from Community Library
• One mile from Seward boat harbor
• Three miles to Exit Glacier Road (about 7 miles from there to the glacier)
• 60 miles to Sportsman's Landing for salmon and trout fishing
• 130 miles from Anchorage
• 90 miles from Soldotna and world-class king fishing

• We are also open all-year-round.  In the winter we would appreciate a stay of 2-3 days.
• Our prices stay the same year-round.  We do not have seasonal pricing.
